
About Me

Jennifer Bayang is the Head Cutter/Draper for the Department of Historical Clothing and Dress at Colonial Williamsburg. In this role she manages a busy shop of Tailors, First-hands and Drapers. Jennifer and her team curate, produce and alter clothing closets for the 500 historic interpretes and trades workers in the Historic Area.
In the 8 years previous, Ms. Bayang was Assistant Costume Director for PlayMakers Repertory Theater which is in residence at University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. As Assistant Costume Director, Jennifer overseen the day to day operations of the costume shop which produced seven main stage shows and 3 second stage shows a season. She also taught Beginning Flat Patterning, Beginning Draping, and a seminar class in Costume Shop Management.
Prior to her work at PlayMakers, Ms. Bayang draped for Syracuse Stage for four seasons. At Stage, the regional theater in residence at Syracuse University, she had the opportunity to work with both professional and student designers alike. Additional work credits include; Draper at Emerson College, over hire at American Repertory Theater and the Huntington Theater. She spent several years free-lancing as a Costume Designer and Costumer for the National Technical Institute for the Deaf and Pittsford-Sutherland High School. Jennifer rounds out her work credits with 10 years of experience in summer stock theater in a variety of roles from, Designer, Assistant Designer to Dyer, Draper and Stitcher.
